The Workout Tab

Upon signing up, you’ll be taken to the ‘Workout’ section of the site.

Starting here, you’ll find everything you need to begin tracking your workouts, including:

  • Begin Exercise- The app will monitor the distance, time, heart rate, cadence, and pace.  
  • Connect Sensors- You can link sensors.
  • Location (GPS)- Allow the app to locate you while you are doing workouts outdoors. With this, you can go cycling anywhere without worrying about how you will get back if you are lost.    

Start Workout

You can begin your workout once you’ve decided on the type of exercise you’ll be doing. On your first attempt at completing a workout, you’ll be presented with a set of five slider tabs.

  •   Geographic Information Systems (GIS) (GPS)
  •   Listen to music (or sync your music library) while you work out, and monitor your heart rate and lap time.
  •   Track your movement patterns, attach to your music library, and monitor all aspects of your workout session in this app.
  •   Average time spent on working out.
  •   Exercise time, distance, lap time, and heart rate are all taken into consideration when calculating total calories burned.

You can change laps, pause and resume your workouts, and lock your screen at the bottom of the screen by holding down the lock icon.

Please note that you will not have the set standards in the app. So, having a compare and contrast feature will help you understand your progress in an effective manner.

The app is a professional fitness tracker. While you are on it, you might need to export your fitness progression stats to your trainer. Using Dropbox or Google Drive, you can transfer your workout data if you wish. Additionally, you can send it via email, WhatsApp or Skype, as well as other messaging services.

Calorie Burn Count

Depending on your given information the app would find out how many calories you need to burn each day. It will also tell when you have reached your daily goal.   Providing your age, mass, and height is a requirement for receiving personalized calorie burn data. 

Audio Announcements

You just need to insert the basic information like your weight, and height asked by the app. Additionally, it integrates seamlessly with various third-party apps, allowing you to share and upload your workout data. While we were checking the app, we always had to keep the location tracker turned on for the app to function properly. It’s not necessary to keep the GPS on if you are not working out. This might feel inconvenient to many people.

Compatible With Other Apps

Wahoo is compatible with other similar apps. You can transfer your workout data on the following apps:

Personalized Heart Rate Zone Information

Your heart rate domains are calculated by the app while you are working out. Apart from that, you can see the current, average, and maximum heart rates with this device. There’s also a graph that shows how much time you spent working out in each zone.

Note that, we observed some inconsistency in the recording of workouts. We paused cycling for 45 minutes and somehow data got wiped out. This is a big flaw though it doesn’t happen frequently.

Wahoo App is compatible with different wearables e.g. Garmin models including FR-60, FR-310, FR-610, FR-910 XT, etc. The users never complained about the compatibility issue, proving that Wahoo App is a versatile software.

Even though it’s not the best app on the block, this one is simple to use. When thinking about workout tracking apps you can consider Strava and TrainingPeaks. Both the apps offer the same features as Wahoo only more precisely.

Strava is a fantastic running and cycling tracking app that competes with Wahoo. It allows you to keep track of all of your outdoor fitness activities, such as the distance traveled, speed of your bike, average pace, number of calories burned, and more. In your personal history, you can share the information with other app users.

Strava has a Club feature that allows you to compete with strangers while also motivating your friends. In addition, you can use the app to organize events and share your accomplishments with other users. Strava can be used for free. Users must, however, upgrade their accounts to take full advantage of the service’s capabilities. Wahoo doesn’t have the club feature.

TrainingPeaks is another fitness app people use to up their fitness games. If you’re a person who likes to work out while on the go, this app is for you. You can log your rides, record your power, range, and speed, and look back on your past workouts.
